Chery is one of the biggest automotive exporters in China, with c. 1M sold cars in 2021, globally, of which 270,000 are overseas exports. In 2010, GB Auto introduced Yokohama tires to the Egyptian market aiming to offer an expansive line that covers passenger cars (PCR), light trucks (LTR), trucks & buses (TBR). Yokohama is originally a joint venture established in 1917 between Yokohama Electric Cable Manufacturing Company and the United States’ BFGoodrich Company.
In 1988, GB Auto acquired the exclusive distribution rights in Egypt for Turkey’s leading established brand, founded in 1974. Lassa supplies the Egyptian market with a wide range of tires, passenger cars (PCR), light trucks (LTR).
