A New Standard for Urban Transportation in Egypt
Cairo and Giza governorates have officially launched an unprecedented initiative to modernize urban transportation through the Bajaj Qute quadricycle. Distributed by GB Auto in partnership with the Ministry of State for Military Production, this vehicle is now available as a civilized alternative to the traditional tuk-tuk across various Egyptian governorates. This four-wheeled vehicle represents a significant leap toward safer, more organized public transport.
This initiative provides a modern transportation option that meets the quality standards set by the Egyptian Organization for Standards and Quality.
Technical Specifications and Features
The Bajaj Qute is assembled at Factory 999, operated by the Ministry of State for Military Production. This four-wheeled quadricycle combines easy maneuverability with the safety standards expected from traditional taxis.
The vehicle operates on a dual-fuel system, running on both petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG). It can travel up to 550 kilometers on a single tank, with 250 km on petrol and 300 km on natural gas. The cost per kilometer is approximately 47 piasters (less than half an Egyptian pound).
The Qute features a 217cc four-stroke, dual-ignition engine with a top speed of 70 km/h. It comfortably seats four passengers. The enclosed cabin provides protection from various weather conditions, with enhanced safety features including seatbelts for all passengers and lockable doors.
Additional features include two interior fans and a roof-mounted luggage rack. The four-wheel design offers superior stability compared to three-wheeled alternatives.

Bajaj Qute Price and GB Auto Financial Support
The official price is 200,000 Egyptian pounds. GB Auto offers significant incentives for buyers upon vehicle registration, including a 10,000 EGP cash back directly from GB Auto.
GB Auto provides various installment plans to make the Qute accessible to a wider range of customers. Existing tuktuk owners can sell their vehicles at fair market value and purchase the Qute through flexible payment options.
Official Fare Rates in Major Cities
In Cairo and Giza governorates, authorities have set the official fare at 15 Egyptian pounds per trip. This pricing balances passenger affordability with driver profitability. The Qute competes effectively with existing transportation options while offering superior comfort and safety. Fare rates in other governorates are determined by local authorities.
Safety and Comfort Features
The Bajaj Qute, as a tuktuk alternative, delivers significant improvements to the passenger experience. The enclosed cabin protects passengers from dust, rain, and extreme temperatures. Seatbelts for all passengers enhance safety during travel, while lockable doors provide security, which is particularly important for families with children.
The four-wheel design provides better road stability. The dual-fuel system reduces operating costs for drivers while supporting Egypt’s natural gas infrastructure. The vehicle’s compact dimensions allow navigation through narrow streets while maintaining a modern, civilized appearance.

Future Vision
The Bajaj Qute represents Egypt’s commitment to urban modernization while preserving livelihoods. By elevating transportation standards, Qute owners benefit from operating a licensed, officially recognized vehicle. Passengers enjoy improved safety, comfort, and a more civilized travel experience.
The Bajaj Qute is locally assembled at Military Production Factory 999 and exclusively distributed by GB Auto, Bajaj’s partner in Egypt since 1999.
